How the Conversion Works
A CMVTE conversion removes your vehicle's internal combustion engine, fuel system, exhaust, and radiator. In their place, we install an electric motor, battery pack, motor controller (inverter), BMS, VCU, on-board charger, DC-DC converter, vacuum pump for brakes, and an electric heater for cabin climate. The original transmission is retained in most cases — the electric motor bolts directly to it via an adapter plate.
Installation by a professional workshop typically takes 1-2 weeks. The kit arrives pre-wired with labelled harnesses, reducing installation time compared to piecing components together from multiple suppliers. After installation, the vehicle undergoes engineering certification and a roadworthy inspection before the registration is updated to "Electric."
Post-conversion range depends on battery size. A Hilux with a 40kWh battery delivers 180-220 km of real-world driving — sufficient for daily commuting, farm work, and regional trips. Charging uses a standard portable charger plugged into a 10A or 15A household socket, with full charge overnight.
